disappearance By MONIQUE A HITCHINGS The Daily News GALVESTON A 12year old girl who recently moved from McAllen with her family re portedly left her stepgrand mothers resi dence Sunday night and has not been seen since Edith Eliza beth Rocha who goes by the nickname Flaca re portedly left a note telling family mem bers shed be OK and left the house on foot between and She was in the house at and the note was found at and she was not there said Detective John Lopez Edith Elizabeth Rocha The 12yearold has been missing since Sunday POLICE IN BRIEF with the Galveston Police De partments juvenile division Galveston investigators origi nally thought Rocha might have gone to see her 20yearold boyfriend in McAllen but McAllen police have cleared the man of suspicion Lopez said Where he was he could not have physically gotten down here to get Lopez said Rocha contacted a neighbor in McAllen on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning saying she was lost had no money and was hungry Lopez said Although police said Rocha knew her grandmothers phone number Rocha had not con tacted her Rocha is described as 5footl with a medium complexion black hair and brown eyes Anyone with any information on her whereabouts can call the jovenile division at 409 7662155 13 weapons reported stolen from residence GALVESTON A resident in the 3400 block of Avenue N reported Wednesday 13 weapons in the form of rifles and shot guns stolen between 4 and 7 The residents were home but did not see or hear anything said Lt Michael Putnal with the Galveston Police Department A downstairs door was found unlocked according to police re ports Were interested in getting these weapons off the Putnal said Police have no suspects and the incident still is under inves tigation Man charged with aggravated robbery GALVESTON Two police officers Tuesday arrested a man accused of robbing a con Drew heads to isle for hearing on LC charges By SCOTT E WILLIAMS The Daily News GALVESTON Convicted killer Jonathan David Drew is scheduled for a hearing today in the 212th District Court Drew will be arraigned on charges of attempted ag Jonathan David Drew gravated kid napping and aggravated sexual assault stemming from a pair of incidents in League City unrelated to his murder conviction said District Judge Susan Criss A Harris County jury last week sentenced Drew to life in prison for the murder of 23year old Seabrook resident Tina Flood After Drews December arrest in Floods death League City police saw his arrest photo and said the picture reminded them of a composite sketch taken from descriptions by the victim of an October 1998 kidnapping at tempt The similarity was strong enough that police decided to put his photo in a lineup they then showed to the victim who pointed to Drews picture Shortly thereafter police in terviewed a woman who had re ported being sexually assaulted in November 1997 The woman looked at a photo lineup containing Drews pic ture and identified him as her attacker Shoemakers blood alcohol level was percent when he died in a singlevehicle accident Sept 11 A person is legally intoxicated when the blood alcohol level reaches percent Lt Michael Putnal with the Galveston Police Department said although the 24yearold man was not legally drunk based on the analysis alcohol was believed to have contributed to the fatal accident At youre already starting to feel
