of Vancouver cel ebrated their 69th anniversary Sept 25 with a dinner and reception at the Santa Fe home of their daughter Judy Z Lodge and band Truman X Jones The Copelands were married Sept in the home of Mrs Copeiand Shirley Wells of Vancouver friend of the bride served as maid of honor Curtis Wilber of Vancouver brother of the bride served as best man Mrs Copelands brother is married to Mr Copelands sister When they met in their siblings home the couple fell in love at first sight Mr Copeiand retired in 1973 from the Portland Motor Transport where he worked as a transport consultant The couple were active in the Orchid Hills Country Club in Washougal where Mrs Copeiand was a golf tournament champion They have three children Judy Lodge of Santa Fe John Cope iand of Vancouver and the late Janet Tobey They are the grand parents of Julie Olson of Enumclaw Jill Young of Wilm ington Ohio Janet Lodge of Vancouver Chris Lodge of Washougal and five greatgrandchildren DukateYablon Kara Michelle Dukate and Benjamin Cuilen Yablon both of Denver were married July 16 on the top of Aspen Mountain in Aspen Colo The bride the daughter of Stella and Carl Dukate of Oprey earned a degree in communications from the University of Colo rado in Boulder She is employed as an executive assistant to the CEO of Quiznos Sub in Denver Yablon is the son of Jana Hay Yablon and H Steven Yablon both of Santa Fe He is the grandson of Fay Hay Dennis and Wil burn Dennis of Littlefield Texas the late Cuilen Larue Hay and Sadie Yablon of Phoenix and the late Irving Yablon He earned a degree in history from St Lawerence University in Canton and a juris doctorate from Denver University Law School He is an attorney in private practice in Denver and a 1995 graduate of Santa Fe High School Natalie Dukate of Dallas sis ter of the bride served as maid Bridesmaids were Liberty Yablon of Los Angeles sister of the groom and friends of the bride Brenna Davis of Seattle Karmina Milosevich of Northglenn Elizabeth Waldrop of Santa Barbara Stephanie Brugge of Louisville and Nicole Winsau of Denver Megyn Balok of Roswell and Aspyn Maesof Tularosa served as flower girls John Dowell of Santa Fe friend of the groom served as best man Groomsmen were friends of the groom Seth Ful lerton of Santa Fe Andrew Elliot Daniel Edgerton Jonah Hunt and Adam Tucker all of Denver David Sager of Santa Fe escorted the mother of the bride and served as head usher The bride wore a strapless ivory silk gown with a drop waist by Richard Glasgow The Aline skirt formed a chapel train She wore an ivory veil with soutage edging The couple honeymooned to Antigua in the British Virgin Islands LopezGonze Leticia Lopez and Joshua Gonze both of Santa Fe were married at Ventana Fine Art Gallery on July 16 in a doublering ceremony officiated by the Rabbi Marvin Schwab A reception fol lowed at Ristra Restaurant Lopez earned a bachelors in journalism and Latin American studies from Northwestern University in Chicago She earned a masters in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville and is employed as the assistant presentation editor at The Santa Fe New Mexican Gonze earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Oberlin College in Oberlin Ohio He earned a masters of business admin istration in finance from New York University and is employed as an associate portfolio manager for Thornburg Investment Manage ment The couple honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas Mexico AngelHorwitz John and Diane Horwitz of Scottsdale announce the engagement of their son Justin Alexander Horwitz to Christa Laura Angel A wed ding is planned for Oct 22 at the Cathedral Basilica of St Francis of Assisi The bridetobe is the daugh ter of Frank and Irene Angel of Santa Fe She earned a bachelors in nursing from The University of New Mexico and is employed at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque Horwitz earned a bachelors in American studies from Amherst College in and a juris doctorate from the University of Arizona Col lege of the Law He is employed as an attorney with the law firm of Rodey Dickason Sloan Akin Robb in Albuquerque BeerninkAyres Monica Beernink and Sam Ayres of Santa Fe were married Sept 10 at the Inn at Loretto Sculpture Garden by the Rev Taylor Drew A reception fol lowed in the Tesuque Room at the Inn at Loretto The bride is the daughter of Tom and Denis Beernink of Belfair Wash She is employed at the Doubletake clothing store Ayres is the son of Roger Ayres of Whilesboro Texas and Diana Mohler of Artesia He is a 1997 graduate of Santa Fe High School and is employed as a mechanic at Alex Safety Land Shannon Crabb of Belfair best friend of the bride served as maid of honor Bridesmaids were Amy Beernink of Belfair sister of the bride and Lacey Ayres of Boston sister of the groom
