surprise caucus Wednesday morning gave Goldwater 14 votes and Scranton 10 As expected Sen B B Hickenlooper and Sen Jack Miller voted for Goldwater and state chairman Robert O Ray and Atty Gen Evan Hultman voted for Scranlon The four previously questionable votes split for the two presidential candidates William Koebler Charles City industrial engineer for Salsbury Laboratories and Jack Warren Water loo voted for Scranlon Dr A L Yocum Chariton and Oscar J Elsen bast Cedar Rapids went or Goldwater SAN FRANCISCO The Goklwater stam pede has not overrun the Iowa delegation It will be split Sen Barry Goldwater looks to be favored by a narrow margin State chairman Robert D Ray of D e s v Moines will vote for Gov William Scranton So will Atty Gen Evan Hultman the Iowa GOP candidate for governor Sen Bourke B Hickenlooper is closely bound to Goldwater Sen Jack Miller is expected to follow suit The remainder of the 24mcmber delegation has been subjected to a tugofwar ever since arriving here Trny have been exposed ever briefly to candidates Despite this a few arereserving final judgment until the very i last moment f Ray feels his vote for Scranton reflects the sentiment of Tuesday describing it as a most cordial visit He said that he advised the Arizona sen ator that he feels it is imperative in Iowa that both elements of the party are and work together next fall
