building supplies Ohio became a state in 1803 Luther Offers Farm Youth New Course Decorah Doctor J W Ylvi saker piesident of Luther college Decorah has announced the intro duction of a new course of study a 2year Rural Leadership Train ing designed particularly for the farm youth of the Evangelical Lutheran church The course will include pre scribed phases of study in Bible with additional emphasis on Luth ers catechism Bible history and other related subjects which will contribute to the training of lay Sunday school teachers and other youth work in the church Courses in English and speech will be an important part of the curriculum including opportuni ties for public speaking debate organization techniques PS well as competent training in the art of writing Science courses will center around the study of botany and physics special lectures by ex perts in the field of soils con servation wildlife mineral de posits will be included in this de partment The social studies will include courses in history economics and political science as well as sociolo gy while special interests will be served by participation in Boy Scout work various recreational fields music both vocal and in strumental Rural students for this course of study will reside in camp dormi tories and will havefull oppor tunities to all of the various extracurricular activities on the campus floors and
