Participating in the air raceS were ftrfny navy and national guard planes and the navy dirigible Los Angeles flew over the grounds Cur ing the raising of the American flag The speakers during the dedica tion exercises were Gov Morgan F Larspn of New Jersey Clarence M Young newly appointed assistant secretary of commerce for aeronau tics and C Townsend Ludmgton president of Central airport Moie than 10000 persons attend ed occupying the specially built grands erected for the occasion One of the first events of the day was a model airplane flying contest held under the auspices of the Aero
