ac tive Industrial districts in the middle west was thet record left by Miss Kath arine Wilson when ehe resigned yester day from the Illinois Terminal rail road at Alton lit During her years in practical charge of the property her management achieved tUe reputation oC one ot the most profitable railroads In the country Sold to Power Unit The belt line wan sold eight months fcgo to the Illinois Power and Light which also controls the Illinois traction system batter known as the McKinley lines for a reported The value ot the property was traced to Miss Wilsons manage ment railroad operators affirm MIsa Wilson has attempted several times to resign since the road was told but the newowners repeatedly urged her to remain She gave as her rea son for resigning that under the new control the rdid is too large as about miles of track would come under her direction and she felt she had de voted enough of hec life to working and wished to retire Despite her resignation Miss Wil ton will retain in office in the rail road headnuartera and act in an ad vleory capacity Never Owned Stock It was reported at the time of the lale Miss Wilson received a gift ap proximating n
