Cedar Rapids Gazette (Newspaper) - October 11, 1974, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 10 The Cedar Rapids (iazette: Krl., Oct. 11. 1971 Saluting special groups and occasions that help make our lives better is a com- mon practice. Bui. none of these special salutes is more warranted than the one to our newspaper carriers. Somehow, in the whirlwind of everyday living, we lend to let these young lowans go unnoticed as they make their way to our doorstep every day sometimes through snow and cold, and sometimes through wind and rain. We simply sit back and enjoy the newspaper without ever giving thought to how it got there. So. this is the day to let them know we appreciate what they do. Go out of your way to greet your carrier today or sometime during National Newspaper Carrier Week and give them a personal "Thank You" for the job I hey do. They certainly de- serve it!
