   Cedar Rapids Gazette (Newspaper) - August 5, 1974, Cedar Rapids, Iowa                                Springviffe Exercise For Linn Firemen The Cedar Rapids MOD., Aug. 5, 197} 5 This was the view in Springville Sunday as members of the Linn County Firemanship Assn. conducted a training exercise. Representatives of 1 9 fire departments were on hand for the project. The departments are receiving training through the cooperation of the Iowa State university fire extension service and Kirkwood Community college. In addition to the fire control exercise, a simulated search and rescue mission was conducted by the Linn sheriff's rescue unit and the Citizens Band Radio club of Cedar Rapids. Firemen from throughout Linn county assembled in the Springville busi- ness district Sunday to conduct an exercise in fire control. A former bank building, the structure was re-ignited several times to provide training opportunities for some 80 volunteer firemen. The firemen shown here are Bob Wheeler, left, and Bob Beauregard. Buchanan Counfy Crash Fatal To Young Fairbank Motorist FAIRBANK Richard Fuller, 17. Fairbank. was killed Sunday night when tin- car he was driving slammed into a bridge five miles southeast of here. According to the Iowa high- way patrol. Fuller apparently lost control of his car on the gravel road. It skidded side- ways for nearly 300 feet before crashing into the bridge. Two passengers, Julie Lev- enduski. 13, Waterloo, and Brad Buzynski, 18, Fairbank. were treated for injuries at a Waterloo hospital, then re- leased. It was the fourth traffic fatality in Buchanan county this year, and it was the third tragedy in the Fuller family. Parents Died Six years ago. Fuller's mother drowned, and eight years ago his father was killed in an accident in Texas. Young Fuller is survived by two brothers, Scott and Dauil; Two Charged With Illegal Beer Sales CORALVILLE-Two Iowa City residents charged by Coralville police and state vice agents Sunday night with selling beer at the Coralville ball diamond for off-premises consumption. Newell Woman Dies Marida Karr, 31. Newell, died Sunday when the car she was driving went out of control and struck a tree on a Newell street. Samuel Sunderman, 19. Walnut, was killed Saturday night when his motorcycle and a car collided on highway 38 a mile south of Walnut. Sharon Bohach, 23, Nashua, died Saturday in a one-car crash at the intersection of a Bremer county road and U.S. 218 north of Plainfield.
