Cedar Rapids Gazette (Newspaper) - March 5, 1974, Cedar Rapids, Iowa Alert Citizen Credited with Foiling Breakin Marlon police credited an "alert citizen" with an assist in thwarting a .breakin at a local residence Monday afternoon. As a result of the action, two Marion young people were in lann county jail. Arrested for breaking and entering was Rob- ert Lee Hotz, jr., of 1287 Sixth avenue. He is being held in Linn county jail injieu of bond. Also held in lieu of bond is Sheri Ann Steichen, 18, of the same Sixth avenue address. She is charged with criminal tres- pass. Police said a citizen witnessed the breakin at the Dwayne Ell- wood residence, 1263 Washing- ton drive, and called authori- ties. The couple was arrested in the neighborhood. Hotz also was charged with a previous breakin, on Jan. 28, at the same Washington drive resi- dence. Police said only money was taken Monday and it was reco- vered.
