Sunday, December It, 1973 A Whale Of A Sale! DUDLEY, England (UPI) Dudley Zoo's fun loving killer whale Cuddles, one of the zoo's major attractions, feels unwan- ted. U.S. Soldier Charged In Shooting BONN Germany (UPI) A young American soldier killed three of his barracks mates and wounded a third in a shooting at a Hawk antiaircraft base east of Heidelberg early Saturday, a spokesman for the U.S. Army in Europe said. The spokesman said U.S. military police were holding the soldier alleged to have carried out the shooting. "The matter is being inves- the spokesman said. "So far we have no idea of the reasons for the shooting." The shooting occured at about 6 a.m. in an American army barracks at the town of Dallau, 37 east of Heidelberg, the spokesman said. German police reported one of the dead men was found in his bed. a second lying on the floor and the third lying on the ground beneath a window. The army spokesman said the wounded soldier was in a military hospital in Heidelberg, and that his condition was reported to be "satisfactory." Because the local government authority wants the zoo to return Cuddles' pool to its original depth, she has been offered'for sale at and there have been no bidders. The local authority said the zoo infringed a building regula- tion, and the zoo said it would cost too much to return the pool to its original size. "We shall be very sorry to see her go.
