turned surpris ingly into a fuming victory in Sat urdays Chevy Dealers 250 Cope appeared headed for a sec ondplace finish behind Hermie Sadler at the New Hampshire International Speedway until Sadler ran out of gas with six laps to go We werent going to catch Her mie He was a little too Cope said after winning his first race since 1990 Then he ran out of gas It was unfortunate for Sadler took it in stride I cant think of anything we should have done or could nave he said It never crossed my mind that we would run out of We did everything we needed to do to win this race It just wasnt our At the time Cope was trying to hang on for second He had broke a header earlier in the race and his motor was laboring he said We just kept Copes crew chief Red Farmer said the car was losing some power in those final laps Cope a Winston Cup regular who won his first Busch Grand National race had moved into second ahead of Bobby Dotter only seconds before Sadler dropped out Then Cope won a iivelap Recently there Was a ment held for any sanctioned youth bowler of Howard County which awarded scholarships for the All Events winners of each division These scholarships were distributed at a banquet which was free to any youth bowler who participated in the tournament whether or not they won an award Both the tournament and ban duet were sponsored by the Booster Club Several board members had
