In July 2008, Corie became the bride of William “Andy” Hinkle. Six weeks ago, she became the mother oi Andrew Price Hinkle.  And on Saturday she became Andy Hinkle’s widow.  A head-on crash on a rain-slicked Limestone County road crushed the hopes and dreams of two local families.  Alabama state troopers said the Hinkle car collided with a car driven by Daryl Harbin at 6:10  See Wreck, page 3A  Two people were killed in a 6 p.m. wreck Saturday on Ripley Road. Limestone Coroner Mike West said Daryl Harbin, 58, and William Hinkle, 25, died in the head-on collision. Corie Hinkle, a passenger, was Injured but has since been released from the hospital. After a long fight by residents in the area, legislators passed bills they thought would stop work at the site. County commissioners now must seek an injunction to stop work.  Despite legislation, Rogers Group continues working at Tanner site  Deputies find man sought in meth case  An Ardmore man on the lam from authorities was arrested Saturday with a cooler full of items to make crystal metham-phetamine, said a Limestone County Sheriff’s Department official.  Jason Wayne Sanders, 35, whose address is listed as 161 Ed White Road, Ardmore, was arrested on three outstanding warrants, including first-degree manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession oi drug paraphernalia, records show.  Officials had been looking for Sanders since the landlord of a rental home at 25042 Elkton Hoad opened a bottle he found May 7 on the premises and was  See Meth, page 2A  By Jean Cole jean if athensnews-courier.com TANNER — Limestone County plans will ask a judge this week to stop work at a proposed quarry at Laughmiller Road and U.S. 31 in light of four state laws passed to block the operation.  1 he legal documents were being prepared Monday to seek an injunction to stop Rogers Group from continuing work at the site, said County Attorney Mike Cole of Wilmer & Lee of Athens.  At issue is whether Rogers Group is violating state law.  On May 11, Alabama Gov. Bob Riley signed into law four bills restricting rock  quarry operations near public schools, the robotics center at Calhoun Community College, Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant and the Tennessee Valley Authority certified megasite — an industrial site off U.S. 31 that already has infrastructure and is ready to lure new industry.  “If the Rogers Group wants to be a good neighbor, the first quality is obeying the law of the state and of Limestone County,” County Commission Chairman David Seibert said during a press conference Monday. “Whether or not they agree with it, it was signed by the governor.”  See Quarry, page 3A  County approves engineer service funds for library  By Karen Middleton karen f at hensnew s-couricr.coin  Limestone County is on board with the renovations to the old Kroger building into a new state-of-the art library.  Monday, the County Commission unanimously approved spending $19,560 for architectural and engineering services to CM IT Architects. The county also approved reimbursable expenses for the project.
