onto its roof Two passengers in the vehicle Ada M Fearer 75 and Elizabeth Hunt 73 of Sylvanus Ave in were taken to Connellsville Hospital in factory condition Another passenger George Hunt 73 was uninjured in the mishap South Union Police also said a car driven by Lynn Gordon 30 of Fairchance hit a tree off Morgantown Rd in South Union Twp Saturday when she apparently fell asleep at the wheel of her car and left the roadway Route 119 A pick-up truck driven by Russell T Skidmore of Lake Lynn struck a black calf on Roule 119 about five miles of Point Marion Saturday The calf was owned by Frank H Lisauckis of Lake Lynn H.D 1 Georges Twp A accident occurred at the York Run Crossroads in Georges Twp Saturday when the brakes failed at a stop sign on a car driven by Harold Wayne Riggen of 38 Summit Ave in causing him to hit the front of a car operated by Gary Wayne Shipley of 197 W Main St Route 51 Barry Kurnava 19 of Chestnut Ridge was taken to Uniontown Hospital after a car lie was Perpetual Help at Mt St Macrina were gone Hordes of local residents mingled with visitors from Connecticut California the Midwest and Quebec Canada reaching a peak estimated as high as sons Sunday By drill teams floats dignitaries and pretty girls capped off the 1977 sylvania Bituminous Coal Show with a fitting finish Saturday in Carmichaels A coal show spokesman described the weather for the annual parade as perfect It was sunny and there was a breeze A crowd lined the entire parade route the spokesman said leading officials to estimate as many as onlookers Those watching saw 125 units in a procession that took two hours to pass the reviewing stand The parade proper was preceded along the plus route that led from the Drive-In Theater on Route 88 through the downtown section to the high school by a string of antique automobiles The parade also included dignitaries such as Cong Austin J Murphy District Assemblyman William DeWcese and the Greene County Commissioners The Greene County Club provided a color guard for the marchers and vehicles Bringing up the end of the parade was the Carmichaels Chamber of Commerce float carrying the 1977 Coal Queen An- dria Babcheck and the four members of her court Miss Babcheck a senior at Uniontown Area High School and the daughter of Mr and Mrs Andrew Babcheck of New Salem was chosen from a field of 17 contestants before a crowd last Sunday Riding with the Queen on the float were Sandra Yarish of michaels Area High School first Leslie Cahn of High School second runner-up Lesli tocci of Geibel High School Connellsville third runner-up and Cindy of High School fourth runner-up The Queen's float was escorted by the Uniontown Area High School Marching Band Master of Ceremonies for the parade was Stephen McCann vice president of the King Coal Association Wayne Hall was general parade marshal In addition lo providing the Coal Show Queen the area also had some prize winning musical and marching units in the parade Post 47
