ESTEB.DAY failed his Majefty'8 Ship the'Glafgow on a Cruize-Remain his Majefty's Sloops Swan and Shark, with the Outward bound Ships. Came down the Madeira Packet, Melante, for 'Njfadeira ; and Jolly Batchelor, Kemp, for Jamaica. Wind S.S.W. Grave/end, Dec. zz. Pafs'd jby the Clarendon, Comp-ton ; Theophila, Goddard ; Pkenix, Honour ; Fox, Hay; Humphry, Wilkinfon ; and Greyhound, Pallifer, for Jamaica ; Prince George, Nairne; and Elizabeth, Wake, from Antigua,; Union, -, from Virginia; the Gideon, Poors, from Oporto i John and Elizabeth, Finch, from Dieppe ; and City of Zurickzee, from Zurickzee. The Mary Anne, Shorthofe, from St. Kitts, is arrived at Gibraltar. The Charming Molly, Mifflin ; and the John Gaily, Brooks, from Newfoundland, at ditto. The Tryton, Saunders, from London, ae ditto. ' The Army arrived Yefterday Morning within a League 4 of this City. We were informed by fome Detachments, 4 fent to make DifcoverieJ, that the Enemy's Army had ' retreated behind the Ciagne, having Tourette on the * Left, and Bagnols oh the Aight. The Bifriop of Graffe, * at the Head of his Chapter, came the fame Morning to 4 meet General Brown, accompanied by the Magiftrates, 4 who presented the Keys to the General, drfiring him to ' fpare their City, and offering him to doall chat their pre-' fent Situation would allow towards the Subfiftance of his * Troops. Count Brown anfwered them, .that ha was fa-4 tisfied with what they had done ; that he would order � the Commiffary of War to fettle the Contributions with � them ; and that, provided they obferyed with Care what * might be prefcribed them with regard to the Quarters � and Maintenance of the Troops, and abftained from all * Correfpeodence. with the Army of the Enemy, they might � depend upon it that Care fhould be taken to prevent all - Diforder, and to' caufe an exact Difcipline to be obferv'd, * His Excellency (hewed the utmoft Politenefs to the Bifhop � and Chapter, telling them, that they might remain quiet * at home, without fearing any Difturbance. But he has 4 iffued moft rigorous Injunctions- againft the Peafants who 4 appear in Arms. The Charming Molly, Cattletonj from North Carolina, is taken into Bayonne. On Sunday laft failed out of Portfmouth Harbour, his Majefty's Ship the Captain ; at the Mouth of the Harbour Commodore Legg hoifted his Broad Pendantt and iakted Admiral Steuart, who returned the Salute.
