This Hiftory was condemn'd becaufe the learn'd  Author therein  (out of Love to Truth; hasexpos'd the Incroachments of the Popes, as well in Temporal as Spiritual Matters ; their intolerable Arro<,� ice, with re-fpe<5t to Princes, ,and the Licentioufnefs of the Clergy, (jc.   The Copy of the Bull is owing 10 the learned . Gentleman   whofe Name is prehVd to it, and who took it from the Weft Door of the Conventual Church of St. 3obn the Baptijl in the lfland of Malta, where it had been affixed -y and a Reward was immediately offer'd for difcovering the Perfon that had taken it'down.
