the zona Federation of Teachers AFL-CIO will take a strike vote next week to see if teachers will walk out of their rooms If the teachers strike a school board spokesman said the board would go to its regular list of applicants and consider these people in case there are positions to be filled This statement was given by Peter Boulay the district's lic relations officer day afer about 40 Coronado High School students picketed the school The students carried placards urging the board to increase the pay for teachers Two police squad cars stood by but the demonstration was orderly School officials said there would be no action taken against the students because they returned to their classes on time AFT members have no re- course but to take a last straw strike vote Larry Bell local president He said the board had refused to dis- cuss salary proposals and other matters with the union Bell said the union represents about 40 per cent of the dis- teachers The board Tuesday night
