congressional hearing By Erica Werner The Associated Press WASHINGTON An Army Ranger who was with Pat Tillman when the former football star was cut down by friendly fire in Afghanistan said Tuesday a command ing officer had ordered him to keep quiet about what happened The military at first por trayed Tillmans death as the result of heroic com bat with the enemy Army Spc Bryan ONeal told a congressional hearing that when he got the chance to talk to Tillmans brother who had been in a nearby convoy on the fateful day I was ordered not to tell him what happened You were ordered not to New Bern High School students are taking their turn in the school uniform debate this month as officials tally votes for and against instituting a uniform policy at the school New Bern High Principal Terry Fuhrman said surveys were sent home to parents last week asking a single yes or no question Do you fa vor school uniforms Included with the survey were several other news bulletins includ Elementary Have voted against uniforms Brinson Elementary School Creekside Elementary School ing one describing a policy similar to that of Grover C Fields if the uni forms are approved Fuhrman said Press WASHINGTON For the first time astronomers have discovered a planet outside our solar system that is po habitable with Earthlike temperatures a find researchers describe Tuesday as a big step in
