Center and vicinity who received initial doses of trivalent oral polio vaccine at clinics held December 10 are reminded this week by the local Junior Chamber of Commerce project sponsor that booster doses equally as important as the initial doses are to be given by registered nurses at the same places on Friday January 28 cubes The vaccine will again be served on small bread Only a few minutes Friday Night Fire Volunteer firemen were called out in zero weather Friday night to extinguish a blaze at the Sioux Center Creamery The fire originated in a kerosene heater in the south end of the through a bridging at the construction bite of the Dordt dormitory last week The accident happened when a truck driven by Dennis Reisma backed over the bridging to dump a load of sand to be used in mak ing cement in the area between the wings of the dormitory which will be the entrance lobby De Stigter Bros general contractors had built a bridging over the basement area already completed constructed of 2 x 12 stringers covered by 2x8 beams and ply wood and braced every few feet below preparatory to covering it with poured concrete The bridging was strong enough for most cars and trucks but a truck weighing 21 tons loaded is a different matter and timbers and beams gave way dumping the whole thing into the basement The truck driver was not in jured and fortunately there were no members of the construction crew at that time in the basement which is used for a storage area A pile of cement blocks stored there was demolished Gilbert DeStigter estimated da mage to the construction site at about and Jerry Reisma owner of the truck said damage to the vehicle would amount to around A dragline had to be brought from another DeStigter construc tion site at Hull to hoist
