Brenda Sue Peterson and Rodney Wayne McMeans spoke their marriage vows in a double rine ceremony in the Naval Chapel in Sam Diego California Reading the vows was Harold F Chaplain Navy Mr and Mrs Peterson of Phoenix Arizona are the parents of the bride The groom is the son of Mr and Mrs Lloyd McMeans of this city The bride wore a long floor length white crepe gown design ed with brief sleeves and a scoop She wore a white orchid corsage The grooms best man was Mike Peterson of San Diego brother of the bride Mrs Mike Peterson was the matron of honor The junior bridesmaids were Susie and Lorie McMeans of San Antonio cousins of the groom The bridal attendants wore long floral polyester gowns featuring short sleeves and each wore a rose and daisy corsage The brides mother wore a two piece white suit with a blue blouse and her corsage was a white orchid The wedding reception was held in the home of Mr and Mrs Mike Peterson in San Diego The wedding cake was a three tiered white with blue and yellow flowers and the top tier was adorned with a miniature bride and groom figurines The bride and groom will be at home in San Diego while the groom awaits his Naval orders Out of town guests attending the wedding were Mrs Lloyd McMeans of this city Mrs Mol lie McMeans of San Antonio aunt of the groom Nancy Vayo of Austin and Mr and Mrs H S Peterson of Phoenix Arizona July 4th all day birthday party On July 4th Donald Morawietz and his family entertained some friends at the parade to celebrate his birthday Everyone gathered atop posts trucks and enjoyed comfort and refreshments Afterwards about 30 friends and relatives enjoyed assorted crackers and cheeses dips and chips and cold beverages on the patio Friends in cluded those from Corpus Christ New Braunfels San Antonio and Seguin In the afternoon the Donald Morawietz family joined the Sam Janysek family at their home on Turtle Lane Other guests were the John Grelns Sunning swim ming and skiing for the first time for the honoree was enjoyed by everyone Ham dogs barbecue and other delicious refreshments were served completed by two birthday cakes Mrs Michael Evans Miss Kay Marston bride of Michael Evans In an impressive ceremony at 8 July 7 Miss Susan Kay Marston and Michael Lynn Evans exchanged their marriage vows in the Jackson Woods Pres Church in Corpus Chris ti Texas Mr and Mrs Arthur A Mars ton of Corpus Christi are the parents of the bride The groom is the son of Mrs Lea Evans and Howard Evans both of San Antonio He is also the grandson of Mr and Mrs Herbert J Ewaid Sr of this city The bride given in marriage by her father was lovely in her wedding gown of ivory organza and Alencon lace over taffeta The gown was designed with a fitted lace empress bodice with pearl embroidery Victorian neckline Bishop sleeves and ap skirt Her full chapel length mantilla veil was horde red and with Alencon lace held by a lace calot She carried a cascade bridal bouquet centered with an orchid Mrs Christi brother of the bride was the best man The groomsmen were James Srubar of Dallas Doug Ocker of Corpus Christi Gerald Gal lagher and Steve Patterson both of College Station Following the ceremony a wed ding reception was held at the Pharaohs Country Club Serving the grooms cake was Mrs Priscilla Baldwin of Buf falo New York sister of the groom Also assisting in serv ing the grooms cake was Kimera Kay Young of Karnes City cousin of the groom The bride is a graduate of Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi and received her BA degree from Southern Meth odist University in 1973 She is presently a candidate for MA degree in English from Southern Methodist University in August 1973 The groom is a graduate of Holmes High School San Antonio and a 1970 graduate of Texas A M University receiv ing his BS degree He is pre a candidate for his PhD In Nuclear Physics from Texas A M at Los Alamos New Mexico The couple left the reception for a wedding trip to Puerto Mexico And upon returning will be at home in Los Alamos New Mex ico Miss Cynthia Vann to wed Gonzales Mrs Zellee McGarity announces the engagement and approaching marriage of her daughter Miss Cynthia Yvonne Vann to Richard Leon Gonzales The is also the daughter of the lave Carl L Vann Sr The prospective groom son of Mr and Mrs Roscoe Charles Gonzales is a Senior at After graduation he plans to enroll in arriving Mrs Jones served the guests strawberry punch The hostesses presented the honoree and her mother Mrs Jerome Engbrock with azalea pink carnation corsages As the some 22 guests arrived the hostesses presented them with cup towels to embroidery in their own patterns and designs These towels were later pres as gifts to the honoree The dining room table was laid with a white cutwork cloth and was centered with an ar rangement of pink daisies and babys breath in a silver container Mrs Jerome Eng brock presided at the silver cof fee service A congealed fruit salad assorted party sand junior years and she attended Texas Lutheran College her so phomore and senior years and received her degree from TLC taught school in Palacios Texas the past two years as an jlementary teacher She is pre employed as an accountant at Structural Metals Inc The groom graduated from Texas Lutheran College and is presently attending graduate school at Southwest Texas State University Among the out of town guests at the wedding were Mr and Mrs Seiter of New Braunfels and Mrs Cratsenberg of Moline Illinois and Allen Pe terson of Alexandria Virginia Shower honors Jan Boehnke Jan Boehnke of David Anderson was honored with a miscellaneous shower at 10 Saturday July 7 in the home of Mrs Baum bach were Mrs Glenewinkel and Mrs Cur tis Timmermann Upon arriving the honoree was presented a bride doll corsage made from a teaspoon in her chosen stainless pattern Her mother Mrs Ed Boehnke re a similar corsage in the bridesmaid design with the brides chosen colors of blue and white The serving table was cover ed with a white damask cloth and centered with ornamental silver scales holding grapes In fall colors which the bride has chosen to decorate her home An assortment of fruit and nut breads apricot cof fee cake and a Swedish tea ring were served along with a fresh fruit filled watermelon half Mrs Boehnke served the coffee from the silver coffee service Among the 25 guests present was the brides grandmother Mrs Annie Boehnke from Mul doon The hostesses gift to the hon oree was a place setting In her chosen stainless steel pattern Surprise birthday party held Mr and Mrs Sam Janysek surprised Barbara Mrs Donald Morawietz on her birthday Tues day July 10 at their home Upon returning to the Janysek home following dinner Barbara was greeted day by friends and relatives The guests included the parents of the honoree the David Behal family the John Greins Mrs Willie Mae Mora wietz Mrs the Jany sek children and the Morawietz children After cooling beverages Bar bara opened her thoughtful gifts She was wearing a full length multicolored dress trimmed with a white collar refreshments Included as sorted dips and chips punch and a banana bundt birthday cake decorated with red candles baked by the hostess
