schools also attended Hollins and it was at a Hollins get-together in Dallas that she met They were married six her husband months later II L Hunt whose business successes have become legendary was a cotton farmer in Arkansas when he met his wife a schoolteacher in Lake Village On borrowed money he joined in the oil boom around of the early and specialized in trading of leases He had an extraordinary head for figures it is recalled though he did not attend school beyond the fifth grade and he is said to have been able to read a newspaper when he was only three years old From Arkansas he went to East Texas passing on way through Ruston where he unsuccessfully sought a loan from local citizen who has ever since had to admit that he made a mistake in not lending the money As his rapidly expanding business en- prospered the elder Hunt at- national notice mainly because of his sponsorship of the Life Line series of radio extolling the advantages of a system in ways that were sometimes in direct opposition to views put forward by advocates of a more regimented economy His life style remained unostentatious Mr Lewis recalled thai on a buying trip to Dallas he encountered Mr Hunt while parking his automobile and engaged him in conversation The curious attendant volunteered He wears ordinary clothes and drives beat-up and it isn't even a The sons inherited their father's Annual Event Set For October On Chatham Road Site By RUTH ALEXANDER Family News Editor Only a few days are left before the an- North Louisiana Fair opens its gates on Oct 6 As in years past the Fair will be held at the Ruston Fairgrounds on Chatham Road with different activities taking place every day of Oct Fair Week The Huston Jaycees will be working at the gates from 3 through 11 p.m with tickets 50 cents per visitor Ruston City Police will be around each night to keep order and protect exhibitors and livestock Mike Craft is the tendent with W A Smith and T W Ray Johnson serving as assistant The show will begin Monday with the Dairy Cattle show with judging to be at 6 p.m Standing exhibitions during the weeklong affair are the Agronomy Crops Section Clothing Forestry and
