Started BY IRENE HUGHES N AT I O N AL 11 is my impression that e have a and destructive force op- in the U S bent on waging civil T i that it is so powerful that within less than 25 years we will tainly be in a civil war It will come just before an international situation and be- cause of it a radical president will be elected This will result in destructive and ing diplomatic blunders so that the prestige of the United States will be harmed to a great extent We may ence a type of concentration camp or concentration camp communities in various areas of our nation This does not mean that it will affect all citizens in fact it might be a good idea This would be to handle tain people who may have de- ideas about our tion I do not mean that they will be in a wrong way but there will be lack of space to take care of them properly I believe also that if certain steps are taken now some of this can be prevented and that the forces can be made less in number so that the chance of concentrated destruction will not come about It is also my impression that one of these days the Capitol of the U.S may be located than in Washington B.C This would make me very sad and so I hope that it never pens In the future I can just see students reading in the tory books that this was the once location of our national Capitol Birth control in our own should be a must This is not a definite moral issue but a means of survival It can be used most effectively in combating the difficult times ahead of us The first major outbreak of the beginning civil war has ready taken place and will erupt again in 1968 as extreme violence Previously I have pre- a scandal in the ance business for 1968 and maybe the riots will be the cause of it Other predictions which are to be in 1968 will include the It is my impression that in the latter part of September and the first part of October an two nuclear de- vices will cause hundreds to be ill and injured because of explo- sions of nuclear devices This will definitely affect the health of many of our people It will cause hundreds of sands of dollars to be spent to take care of people involved in this NATIONAL In early 1969 probably February or March agreements will stop the Viet Nam war for a brief spell This will be a great day while it lasts I have already predicted more violence m the fall months of 1967 and It will come about Worse demonstrations in early 1968 between March and August that will make the 1967 demonstrations small and insignificant There will be a terrifically cold spell the first week of tember and going into the ond week and we will have a vow w frost After that we will have some very hot weather We will have a beautiful and most col- autumn X ST Enough for predictions at this time Now let's get into my cation as I promised I went to Los Angeles at the request of Lee Hope Bob Hope's sister and a very lovely person who has been a friend of mine for some time As soon as I checked in at the Hilton I grabbed my swim suit we were off to her home and into the pool It was a lovely warm after- noon with the temperature in the 90s She has two lovely daughters Debby and bara On Monday lunch at er's Market with Grant van an actor radio and TV stai What an Again it was a lovely warm day Then back to Lee's home and swimming with her wonderful afternoon just relaxing and talking dis- cussing many many topics tional and international f: T For Tuesday night I had planned a party to get many of my friends who did not know each other together at for dinner There was Mercedes McCambridge Elinor Yorke Grant Sullivan Jack Rourke and Lee Hope We had a wonderful time getting to know each other Mercedes McCambridge is opening in Who's Afraid of Virginia in which she played on Broadway on Sept 5 She will take the play to Ohio and bring it back to southern Illinois in October at which time she will appear on the Jim Con way show for two weeks She is a great actress a lovely lady and a warm friend After the party on Tuesday night we relaxed Wednesday morning and then went out to Paramount Studios where we watched Dean Martin in a dress rehearsal for his TV show Dean is a very ful delightful person There were very few mistakes made in the filming of his show it goes along smoothly without many hitches We also visited the lot where Lome Green star of Bonanza was filming the fall series He visited with us posed for tures with us and I found him to be a very wonderful person He is a friend and neighbor of Lee y After visiting many of the lots at Paramount we had lunch at the commissary and saw many stars there ing Gregory Peck That evening a party on Grant Sullivan's patio and a drive to Pacific Palisades to visit Mr and Mrs Walter leigh whom I have known for several years who moved there last year from Washington D C Walter Burleigh is with the space program in California They live in a lovely ment overlooking the ocean What a gorgeous Thursday morning I flew to
