SLIDE The Emmetsburg Kiwanis Club is completing its in Kearney Park A large toboggan slide is being constructed by the club and wirl be turned over to the city of Emmetsburg upon completion The slide will be vised by city and open only during supervised periods Only toboggans will be allowed on the slide which will extend to the edge of Five Island Lake to provide a speedy and lengthy ride A prospective rider looks up the slide and Vern left with Gary Hughes are pictured near the bottom of the slide Bochman is project chairman and Hughes is president the club Two more sections of the chosen for 1972 and will meet at the courthouse at 10 Jan 18 to inspect the jail and take care of any other matters that may come before it The members Victor Johnson and Kenneth Emmetsburg Robert banks will close at noon Dec 31 It was announced this week Suit In District Court A damage suit was filed In Palo Alto County District Court last week by Curtis Jorpeland and his mother Elsie Jorpeland against the Chicago Rock Island and Pacific Railroad The suit charges the railroad company with stopping a flat car across a dark street In Em- at night Feb 5 1970 with rio lights reflectors
