OrrViews (Newspaper) - July 17, 2009, Orrville, Ohio Submitted by MORGAN WINGET The majority of World War II veterans are now age 80 and above. Their ranks are being depleted in rapidly growing numbers. Many of these veterans have experiences, remembrances, or other stories that should be shared with both their families as well as their friends and neighbors. OrrViews accepted Morgan’s proposal and throughout the next year, the paper would like to pro fi le several of the area’s Submitted by SHAWNA DEVOE Orrville City Schools The Orrville City Schools and the Rittman Exempted Village Schools need your help to secure grant funding to assist both districts. The two districts have collaborated on a grant request submitted to a Northeast Ohio organization called Ef fi cient Government Now that is looking for cost- effective and cooperative initiatives in our region. Up to three collaborative government projects will receive a portion of the $ 300,000 available. Our proposal was narrowed down to one of nine fi nalists from over 60 original projects. The fi nal decision will be made by Ohioans through online voting. Our proposal outlines the administrative compact entered into by the Orrville City Schools and Rittman Exempted Village Schools in January of 2008. The agreement allows for shared resources including administrators, staff, programming, transportation, and much more. The compact has already generated $ 270,000 in combined savings for the Submitted by DARLENE MORRISON Jerry Demlow will be celebrating his 30th year in business on July 23 at Jerry’s Cafe, 226 W.
