reported more than 6.000 persons were killed by a cyclone and tidal wave that smashed the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh washing entire villages out to seas The tropical cyclone the equivalent of a hurricane or typhoon roared in the coastal area north of Madras with winds of 60 to 90 Saturday night and Sunday It was followed Sunday by a devastating tidal wave The news agency said more than persons were left homeless by the one-two punch of the natural disasters reportedly the worst ever to hit the southeast India region Officials said the tidal wave alone may have drowned here say they have discovered aircraft wreckage that may provide a clue to the in 1944 of American dance band leader Glenn Miller Miller disappeared over the English Cannel while flying from England to France during World War II Radio contact suddenly was lost with the plane as it flew over the sea near this southern English port The plane failed to arrive at its destination No wreckage was found
