become effective Sept 30 Hero Jailed HONOLULU T H May 21 The Navy reported that rescue planes from Pearl Harbor ing for a seaplane down at sea early today have sighted only four survivors The plane carried a crew of eight The first planes over the area where the Marlin ditched when one engine conked out re- ported sighting four survivors in one and three empty rafts The Navy here received a radio message from the crippled plane at HST saying it was letting down for a ditching while on the San Diego to Honolulu leg ot a training flight to the Far East Navy search rescue headquarters at Pearl Harbor said an LST 32 miles from the sighted survivors was en route to pick them up The were sighted by a crew of a Navy radar plane at nearby Barbers Point Naval Air Station The were found
