set the cotton price at 12 9 cents a pound which the senator believes will save the in- dustry of the southern states from imminent since if the holders of the tremendous surplus were forced to sell immediately probably would receive only half that price Importers say that if they are men the monetary price of silver Si 29 an ounce Oriental residents would be well able to buy and store cotton for future needs If the program can be worked what it means is that the price of silver would be raised to its parity level of in this try which would soon raise the price to the same figure In other
