He sheared sheep in and around Appanoose County for 25 years and served as the City Marshall in Moulton for 21-1/2 from 1953-1974. Oley is a man many but is most likely best known for his carpentry He's been in the business for the past 50 years and still remains very active with it. Oley has created many beautiful pieces of working out of his shop located on East 2nd where he also runs a saw and has a solar dryer which he uses to dry the lumber before it's He picks and buys native logs such as and anything else that looks good to After the logs are sawed the lumber then goes into the solar dryer where it remains year before just the right pieces are selected for making The projects are beautiful with a lot of hard work going into each Oley makes furniture for anyone requesting something and if you're lucky you might be able to go to his shop and find something made especially for something just completed for you to fall in love with and feel you just have to five drawer chests are his latest projects and Beautiful they Oley and his wife Shirley spend many hours during the summer months picking apples from the many apple trees on their Working with the apples and spending many hours working in the yard and gardening are what is considered a hobby of This past spring Oley is seeing things with much more enthusiasm than past years as he underwent a very successful cataract He now fully enjoys the beauty of nature and everything around The Tribune would like to Thank Oley for being our personality of the week and for sharing his many talents with so many Banquet Community Sale is Planned The 1990 Spring Activities Banquet will be held at the High School Tues.
