TAKE Special Lo the Monitor JEFFERSON CITY Mo Nov 29 of the Chicago Burl ington Quincy Kail road Company for certificate of authority to construct fin extension to its lino of railroad from Mori roo C i ty Jn Mon re c Co nn ty Missouri to the City in Kan County is as follows now the Chicago Hurl ington Railroad Company and Uys Us application to this Commission for a certificate authorising it to ex tend Us line of railroad from Monroe City in Monroe County Missouri to tho city of in Randolph Coun ty Missouri and for that purpose a logos L That it to construct single track railroad with passing tracks switches and tormina facilities leaving its present line of railroad at a point mik west of its present station in the town of Monroe City Monroe County Mis souri and running in a southwesterly direction through said county of Mon roe and through the town of Madison jn County Missouri and through the County of Randolph and through to said city of and terminating at a throo said city of ly which latter point for present bo called Said railroad will he constructed with heavy steel rails upon wooden tier upon earth by means of such cuts and 111 Is as that the maximum against will petitioner proposes to voluntarily sep arate the grade thereof by the con struction of its railroad either over 01 under said public highways The re mainder of said crossings this petition er proposes to make at grade but it also intends to propose to the courts of Randolph coun ties certain changes in location of pub lic highways for the pf and undesirable crossings so that it cannot at this time Hie a full complete or final plans for the crossings of said Section seven of the application tells where the road will cross the Missouri Kansas Texas and the tracks and reads as follows Mst In the eastern part of said City of track petitioner TO THE MONITOR UE 01 FIRE FOK at which point the will cross over the be tenths one per cent and grade against westbound traffic will be of one per the maxt track of said Missouri Kansas Texas Railway with a suitable permanent having a vertical minimum clearance of twentytwo feat 2nd Petitioners proposed exten sion the tracks of said Wa bash Railroad Company and Missouri Kansas Railway Company the southern edge of said City of Mob near the point where said railroads now cross each ether at grade and it is the intention of pe to alsi cross said oil her ob rights on the tracks of other companies from said Junction westward or construct ili own lino or both and said new lino ot railroad will provide said city of Mob erly with bettor and more direct serv ice to other important points than it now han and also provide railroad fa and service for interior tor not now provided with any such service and will also provide a short er lower grade line between Kansas City and Chicago than it now has that such lino is between said points and wi 1 great convenience to the public by rea son of tho bettor and quicker service this petitioner will be able to render inthe movement ol such traffic This applicant will construct said now line of railroad with money now in its treasury available to La used for that purpose said be later by the issuance of securities covering said lino The fourth section of tho application states that the said proposed extension railroad may com pete to a limited extent with the Mis souri Texas Railroad ana the Wabash Railroad Company which uses tho former roads tracks now be tween Monroe io the proposed extension is Seated near lino of rail Texas Railway at points and nl other points live mil or thereof to such other persons or cor as it may deem The petition was filed by O M Spencer and H J Nelson attorneys for the road and was sworn to by Hale president it covers Tour and onehalf typewritten pages
