Mass Media, The (Newspaper) - April 3, 1968, Boston, Massachusetts The MASS MEDIA and the truth thaB make you Vol II No 13 UNIVERSITY OF Wednesday April 3 1968 Special Election Supplement Mass Media Election Policy We of the MASS MEDIA wish to announce our concern with the upcoming elections of April 3 4 It has long been the policy of this newspaper to address many of our grievances to and against the Student Government We did not wish to see this election turn into a farcical popularity poll The provisions that for the socalled great de bates were obviously inefficient since these headon ters never materialized We felt that something should be done to bring the opinions and platforms of these students to the voters This special supplement is the result Our efforts would have been ludicrous if not for the cooperation of those candidates you see listed here We announced that we wished to have pictures and state ments from all candidates Those who responded did so gen but with such a volume of words that we felt it nec essary to condense many of them keeping their major points intact to the best of our ability We urge you the student voter to read and choose carefully those candidates you wish to see in office The MASS MEDIA itself will take no editorial stand on any one candidate The short space of time that was allowed for campaigning has not been sufficient for us to discern whom ever we felt to be the better possibilities So we will print simply the candidates and their platforms and you may vote accordingly or disregard this altogether whatever you wish The pictures of the candidates however may be useful for any student of physiognomy As a final note we wish to apologize to the candidates who took out ads in the MEDIA We simply had no all of them and we felt that inclusion of some and not of others would be a minor form of discrimination and therefore unfair Rick Scovel NAME Rick Scovel OFFICE YOU ARE
