Seeks Aid for Randolph Randolph as one of five Missouri counties listed by Gov Christopher Bond as substantially damaged in a letter Tuesday to President Nixon Bond sent the letter to Washington seeking assistance for five additional Missouri counties damaged in heavy rain storms and flooding of major rivers and throughout the state from March 6 through April 22 On April 19 thirty-eight Missouri counties and the city of St Louis were declared major natural disaster areas by Nixon On April 27 an additional 43 counties were declared to be disaster areas From the date of the first request for federal assistance on April 11 through the third request made Tuesday 86 of the state's 114 counties and the city of St Louis have received sufficient damage to be listed as disaster areas The request is made in accordance with Public Law No 606 Congress as to provide supplemental federal assistance for disaster relief from damage to both public and private facilities Estimates of agriculture and private damage are not fully known at this tune according to Francis X Tobin regional director of the Office of Emergency Preparedness Kansas City who is working with Missouri Lt Gov
