sane and safe Fourth of July Tuesday with no serious traffic accidents harmful mishaps firecrackers or reported Firemen were called out three times un minor rips Police did investigate vandalism at MO at the Westlake Hardware Store at 551 West Coates where a rock was thrown through the window of the front door but there was no loss of property they reported And other than the popping of firecrackers and noisier sounds of home owners mowing the grass with their power nothing was exceptionally disturbing to the community New Business To Open on Reed A new business on Reed street will open soon according to Marvin Goessling owner The business to be known as the Craft Shoppe will be located at 513 West Reed street in the former Bellas Hess cataloge store Goessling was owner of the town Ben Franklin store remodeling has been underway for some time The business will feature a card and stationery department by American Greeting yarns needles and knitting supplies as well as craft items and an outstanding candle department sam supplies tor candle making macrame and flower making plus art loam beads of all kinds and a variety of craft kits will be available items by Bucilla featuring quilt tops to embroider crewel tapestry quilt backing and linings pillow forms and polyester and foam fillings Extension Vote Rejects Region Plan for Monroe PARIS The Monroe County University Extension Council at a recent meeting voted to return to the Ex- tension plan instead of participating in the Mark Twain Regional plan which included eight counties The change will be came up She said they tried to reach the dock at the marina but just as they were about to land the wind swept Mrs Combs over- board Quade caught hold of his law's dand but the roof of the dock blew
