important subject to tourists Because in a strange land it is necessary to be sure that eating places are safe and sanitary Milans Aldo Restaurant was probably the wrong place to be introduced to Italian cuisine There all the food the dishes made distinctive by the skill of the Italian was ot the very best including their unrivaled antipasto ravioli and similar dishes Milan was the first Italian city we visited and ever since we have not found any Italian food comparable to Aldo s We were fortunate however in Rome in the dis covery of thie California their American luncheonette where we had he best lunch since leaving home Nothing has tasted so good as the hamburger with a coke and a piece of Boston cream pie a milk shake and a salami sandwich American style Of course Italian food is popular with some people and unpopular with others We are getting tired of European bread and coffee and would relish a change to Finks and a good cup of American coffee such as can be obtained at Andrews The Colonial The Palace and other uptown Leb anon restaurants The Royal Danieli Roof Terrace overlooking the beauti ful lagoon of Venice offered an exquisite menu The little shrimp cocktails were tasty but could have been made much better with a good red sauce and some horse radish The chicken cacciatore was delicious and after everything is said the Danieli offered good food and an
