Mr Smith has already gone to Jirch where Mrs Smith and children will soon join him The prayers and best wishes of many friends here will One Who Was The importance of sufficient area for school grounds can not be made too emphatic One of the most common mistakes that has been made by school districts in the past is the making of inadequate vision for play grounds This is particularly true of cities and towns An unusual condition exists in a consolidated district in that all of the children that are transported to school must remain at the school building throughout the noon hour At least four divisions of play ground should be established one division for the older boys one for the younger boys one for the older girls and one for the younger girls In addition to the foregoing provision should be made for ing and an experimental plot for agriculture for the latter purpose must in a ure depend upon the amount of work that is to be offered in this line but sooner or later a able area will be required for this work in which case four acres would be insufficient Should ex- prove that such is the case the Department reserves the to require additional area To be BUILDINGS accepted by the State Thert Department a building must be properly heated lighted and and provided with special rooms for Domestic Science and Manual Training It should also make provision for indoor toilets and a large assembly Is HEREBY that a Special Election of the Con- Independent School Dis- of LeGrand in the Counties of Marshall and Tama State of Iowa will be held on the 20th day of April
