enter Into a contest for memberships According to the plan announced all be boys who belong are to be ed in the contest on one or the other of the two teams The team which in the greatest number of memberships will be set down to a feast of chicken etc with the losing side enjoying mush and milk etc on the opposite side and then comes the laugh Each dollar of membership money brought in entitles the team bringing it in tu five points in the general score which will be ed weekly until tho last day of the month when the contest closes There will also be prizes for the individuals who score the greatest number of Captains and colors have been chosen and the boys are already busy getting members The International Committee of the Young Men's Christian Association was able to close its fiscal year with every obligation paid of its budget of for its homo work and its foreign work In fifteen countries and en all continents first Annual Ball of Locomotive Fireman and Engineers a Success Tie plans of the members of Laurel Lodge No 798 B of L F and E for a social event culminated day night in tho Annual Ball of the organization which took place in Odd Fellows hall which was and beautifully decorated for the occasion Tho members of the local lodge with their wives daughters and sweethearts were out in force and with many of their Laurel friends ami others from points north and south on the line of the N 0 M and C railroad made up a largo nnd happy company of pleasure seekers Fine music was furnished by Prof S S Levy and his orchestra which waa a prime factor in contributing to the pleasure and happiness of those that took part in the dance It was a social and the several committees ot the lodge charged with planning the affair deserve the fullest of praise for the unqualified success which attended their efforts Long may Laurel Lodge No 798 B of L F and E exist and flourish Painful Injury Befalls Little Ctrl bat No Serious Result The four yeur old daughter of Mr and Mrs J H Crawford little Annie Lee met with fan accident Monday by which she sustained a painful Injury In a gith two inches on her right jaw It seems little Annie was playing In the yard with an old clock case which she called her doll baby and bad gotten into her baby carriage with it In her play the carriage was overturned throwing Annie out and she fell to the ground the right sida of her face striking the clock case with considerable force as both reached ground producing tho injury before stated Tho family physician quickly responded to tho summon him and sonn ed the wound and had the
