Fire Rates Reduced Revision in Dwelling Insurance Rates in Missouri Announced C Lawrence Leggett superin tendent of the Division of In surance announced today a re vision In dwelling scheduled rates in Missouri According to Leggett the rates effective April 2 will save the Missouri policy holders millions a year The fire insurance rates on one and two family dwellings show an overall reduction of about 23 per cent on building rates and ap 11 per cent on con tent rates A new approach is being intro because of the continued unfavorable windstorm and hail oss experience on dwelling Buildings and outside radio and television equipment An option al windstorm and hailstorm deductible clause Is provided whereby at a rate reduced from ZO cents to 16 cents the insured assumes the first of any windstorm or loss under the extended coverage endorsement The contents rates for all dwellings have been reduced from 20 cents to 16 cents for full coverage The deductible clause does not apply to contents of dwellings Full cover extended coverage Including windstorm and hail may still be obtained by the policy holder at an increased rate from 20 cents to 22 cents Experience cov of television antennas pre sents a severe windstorm and hail exposure and practically amounts to a maintenance con tract In another effort to stabil ize the extended coverage Insur ance and keep loss ratios within due bound the coverage on out side radio and television equip ment has been eliminated from the dwelling forms If hall and windstorm protection Is desired on radio and television equip ment specific
