veered toward a moderate tax program as fears arose that a farreaching measure may have an adverse effect on business After lengthy discussion of a policy of carrying out the Presidents tax message the committee admittedly had framed no program Members individually including Democrats who are in the majority emphasized that the program is likely lo be in scope and in amount Some members predicted that less than would be raised by the now in preparation The committee apparently had defi though without any formal ac tion discarded proposals of broaden ing the measure to include a boost Coun ty camping at Camp Weco will pre sent a Hopi snake dance next week Rehearsals for the dance in which live snakes are carried between the teeth of the dancers began day The Hopi Indian snake dance a re production of the dance as performed by the Hopi Indians in Arizona is said to be the only one given in this section and draws spectators from many districts Some 40 snakes will be used in the dance which is to be staged in picturesque Indian village at Camp Wesco The snake priests who carry the writhing reptiles in their teeth will wear costumes all authentic of or ange aprons turtle sheels leather necklaces and wrist bands Each snake carrier will be accom by a whose duty it is to prevent the snake from biting its carrier The antelope priests in ela borate costumes and paint will
