Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds rodeo entertainment is uled to begin at 7 One hundred fifty-five boys will be competing for 335 in prize money Competition in the Last Chance Stampede arena is conducted under recognized rules Prize money won by contestants here will be credited to the annual championship standings The Last Chance Stampede is one of nearly 600 rodeos proved each year by the Rodeo Cowboys tion See Oilier Rodeo Slory on Page 9 Some of he nation's op boys including Dean Oliver the No 1 champion will compete in the Helena rodeo which also has performances Saturday and day at 2 p.m with entertainment starting at -I p.m Oliver besides being the lop cowboy in the nation also is the champion He has won more than this year Other champion cowboys who have entered the weekend com- petition include Benny Reynolds the 1962 rodeo champion ston Bruce and Kenny McLean champs from Canada and John Hawkins the 1963 bareback rider champion One of 12 candidates will be announced tonight as winner of the Miss Last Chance Stampede queen contest The contestants have been judged on ity appearance and ship The judges wilt deliver their decision after the grand entry into the rodeo explosively today on a main street of Nha Trang and a U.S spokesman said at least 12 Vietnamese civilians were killed The spokesman said 4 cans and 63 Vietnamese were injured and the death toll was even that should your number be called you will be rejected by the examiners This estimate is based on compiled recently by the Army surgeon general's office on results of examinations youths for military service last year 47 Per Cent Accepted During the year 1964 the re- port shows draftees were given nations and 47 per cent were accepted Of the 53 per cent who didn't qualify 22.2 per failed the medical examination 16.2 per cent failed menial lesls 11.4 per cent were because of training ability 1.5 per cent were put because they were disqualified under both medical and mental standards and 1.7 per cent for reasons This last group is described as those found morally unfit The purpose of the medical tests the report explains is to eliminate individuals with cal defects of such degree as lo make it impossible for them to perform their military duly and lo exclude who might require prolonged lion and eventual discharge er they had been taken into service The surgeon general's commented that historically the standards have been viewed in terms of combat duty and that while this philosophy still sists the criteria for medically determining combat fitness have obviously
