The Fleet arrived here laft Tucfiiy -y the next day the Englifh Dragoon--, Hi IPs and Macartney's Regiments Landed. Yefrerday the Dutch Dragoons, the Regiments of Hotham, Partington, Mark tarr, Mordant and Bowles** were alfo Landed, and by to morrow night all the Troop, will be onShoar. Upon our arrival, the Dragoons and 800 Foot were fentto Ehfo, which the Enemy quitted fome days before. 'Tis the General Opinion, that the Squadron under Monileur duQuefne, who lately failed fromBref}, is bound for the H "eft-Indies, to fetch home the Plate Fleet; and if poflible, bring it into the Harbours of France. The Two Galleon* lately arrived at Breft, have on Board a Million, three Hundred Thoufand Pieces of Eight, which the Vice-Roy of Mexico fends by way of Prefent to King Philip; but no true Eftimate can be made of the Sums they have for private Perfonc, till the Exprefs fent to Madrid is return'd, by which time they will be unladen. The two French Ships, -y^. one of this Place, and the other of-Nanus, that are like-wife arrived tit Breft, come from the South Sea, and not from the H.ivana, as was at fir ft reported ; nor are they fo richly Laden : For as their firft Cargo was only of a Hundred Thoufand French Livres, fo the Return is but proportionable. The PafTen-gers on Board report, that the Galleons were already fail'd for Spain ; but Letters from VuebU ie hs Angeles, 30 Miles from Vera Cru^ import, that the Advice thoy had received from Cadtx, was that the Allies had not only relieved Barcelona, but obliged King Phtlip, and his French Troops to raife the Siege, and leave their Artillery behind them ; as alfo that the Affairs in Madrid, and the reft of Spain, had a very cloudy afpeft, which occahoned a great Confirmation at VeraCru^, and the Havana; and made them put off the Departure of the Galleons untill they fhould receive a better Account of the Affairs of Spain ; but the Winds blowing generally Eafterly in that Country in the Spring, 'z'u believed. they will not come home till the latter Seafon.
