Charles Hotel Luncheon Another milestone in the development of southwest Tex as hat been passed The second in the series of agricultural meetings was held at Kerrville Wednesday of last week The first was held at about a month ago and was attended by represen of the Kerrville Cham of Commerce At that time an invitation was extend ed to those present to attend the which was held here last and about fifty gathered as guests of the local Chamber of Commerce and were entertained with a luncheon at the St Charles Hotel When appetites sharpened by the mornings activities which consisted of a visit to the Heart of the Hills Fish Hatchery and other places of interest had been satisfied by the splendid feast spread by the St Charles Hotel Chas Mason recently elected dent of the local Chamber of Commerce with well chosen wards introduced Judge Wurz chairman of the agri cultural committee of the San Chamber of Commerce Judge Wurzbach gave credit tff Kerrville for starting the movement for larger cooperation in the San Antonio trade ter The keynote speech of the afternoon was by Her bert L Crate of the Crate Real Estate Company on the subject of San Antonios Un discovered Trade Territory Mr Orate is a ready speaker at any time and on this oc casion he waxed eloquent in a forceful presentation of his With his usual thor he had prepared to present his subject in such a manner as to leave in no doubt as to the message which he had to deliver He had placed before Mr Crate lauded the business and commercial undertakings but said that the recreational feature also must be nearly failed in the opposite direction by providing no recreational territory Here we have not only splendid run ning streams well supplied with game fish and a great fish hatchery to replenish them but also a natural game sanc tuary where deer aud turkeys may be protected and conserv ed Judge a large map country showing of the hill Kerrville as the gateway to a vast play ground Nowhere in a like territory can so many streams of clear running water be found to Mr Crate as in this same hill country Giving San Antonio full cred it for being the mother of us all upon which all this terri tory
