IS FOUND IN WOODS BY FARMER HERMAN RESIDING NEAR DISCOVERS NAKED BABE NEAR IS MYSTERY An infant boy said to have been born Sunday was found deserted in some woods in the Town of Grand ids near Kellner early Monday a m by Martin Helke farmer residing on the Kellner road After making the discovery of the babe Mr Helke phoned to the city anil Dist Atty Calkins and Dr Ed Hougen ed to the call The infant was alive in spile of the probable exposure of several hours was taken to the and is still alive Without Clothing Mr Helke was searching the woods adjacent to his field for fence posts when came upon the child clad in a cloth wound about the head and body lying on a bed of oak leaves near a large tree He had cut the small trees for fence posts lust winter and as he was about to erect a fence and needed the posts when he went to the woods to gather up a supply for the day's work when he came across the child Neighbors could throw no light on the mystery and none of them has seen anyone in that vicinity whom they might suspect of abandoning the child Dr Hougen said that he expected the child would survive the experience of being exposed without clothing or nourishment He could
