I Gettysburg's new sewer tax passed earlier in the month and about which a controversy now rages as to its rates council took action at an adjourned meeting Wednesday evening to determine how many sewer connections there are in Gettysburg so that some mate of the revenue the measure will net the borough may be arrived at The tion of council in passing the new tax ordinance before determining what revenue will be derived was pointed out by John D Keith who before council as a taxpayer and on behalf of the hotels and furniture factories here May Seek Injunction Mr Keith intimated that unless the ordinance is changed so as to remove some of the tax burden it imposes council would make itself liable to an injunction action in the local courts on the ground that the measure is inequitable unreasonable He pointed out that the title of the ordinance is vague and uncertain as to the purposes for which the money to be raised by the tax is to be used While a sewer tax ordinance is not without merit said don't defeat the purpose for which the ordinance was drawn by having it illegal The attorney was one of ten erty owners in Gettysburg who at- tended the council session them
