Activities Is Aim of New Chief IS MADE MORALE OFFICER Discharged Men May Also Avail Themselves of Department Services Major E G Stebbins M C has been appointed morale officer and di rector of physical rehabilitation at U S General Hospital 26 the latter ap pointment correlating the department wUli that of physica training Major Stebbins is eager to estab lish a spirit of cooperation between the patients in the hospital and his department He therefore invites those who wish to discuss their prob lems and difficulties with him to cal at his office in ward 8 If he is ab sent he requests that patients leav their names and ward numbers sc that on his return he may make a spe clal point to look them up Not only does Major Stebbins hopi for close contact with the men here hut he also wishes to follow up dis charged patients through their friend at the post who correspond wit them Major Stebbins has been in tin service since July 1917 serving over seas for one year He was in orthopedic work in Oxford Eng land in Base Hospital 101 at St Na zaire a and at Base 8 He returned to the States July 9 From Camp Sherman Ohio he reported to post July 31 THROUGH THE WARDS Soldiers Praise Army o the largest demobilization camps the United States brought interesting replies Out of the 1440 questionnaires sent out among enlisted men about to be discharged 895 per cent stated in re ply that their military training had benefited them personally in one or more ways Only 105 per cent be they had not been benefited It is interesting to note the follow ing extracts from some of the typical answers received A The army has given me a broader outlook One learns to con sider the other man as well as him self I have never felt better cally in my life 1 have straightened up my shoulders which
