or electors lo aid them in making A Woman Identified With Early History of in Ireland She was Educated in Ashland and Came Herewith Mr Andrews Mrs Jane Becket Martin aged 82 died at her home in Lancaster last Thursday The funeral occurred on Saturday Mrs Maitin was the first high school teacher in Massillon She came here when the union school was organized and served under Andrews the first principal She was before her marriage Miss Jane Becket and by this name she is re membered by many old friends and pupils in this neighborhood She lived in a wing of what was then known as the Harris residence on the lot where the homos of H A Croxton and Per Lee Hunt are now located It was subsequently owned by the late Edwin Bayliss and has since been moved to 17 South Prospect street She taught in Massillon for ten yoars and then moved to Lancaster where she taught until she married the late John Martin of that city She be came blind several years ago and her patience under this affliction was an exemplification of her character the fine qualities of which wero well known to all her friends She was born in Ireland Her or came lo Ibis country to prepare a home for bis family When her mother with two little children a hoy and a girl reached Philadelphia at the close of a long sea voyage they wore informed that the father had tiled about two weeks before They moved from Philadelphia
