Joseph says that Colonel C F Enright former State Bank Commissioner is seri ill and all hope of his recovery has been abandoned It seems that hfe was in bad health before he left here early last January and has been growing worse ever since It is stated that a few days after returning to St Joseph he went to a hospital tod later to a sanitarium and suffered a complete nervous breakdown It generally known that he was in bad health at the time he left for he was a man who never com Some time in December he tendered his resignation to Gov ernor be accepted January 1st and the Governor granted his re quest Colonel Enright has a host of friends in this city and all over the State He had been connected the largest banking institutions in St Joseph for many years and had ex to return to Crops Reported by Mrs Charlotte Cole Prominent So Governor Hyde j Secretary Mayes I Walks Into Lake COSTS LESS TO BUILD NOW A Test in New York Shows 18 Per Cent Drop in Year New York March actual test it costs 18 per cent less to build a home now than in 1920 A Long Island contractor has made the test and an elaborate table of com costs is presented The con tractor used plans in 1920 from which he built a house this year Mason labor painting material painting la bor and cost of survey alone did not change in price Labor is down 20 to 26 per cent and electrical heating and other fixtures are lower 10 to 20 per cent The house in brief cost to build in 1920 and in 1921 a of 18 per cent Govenor Hyde today approved the two bills rearranging the judicial cir cuits of the State and cutting down the number of districts from 38 to 34 and legislating seven or eight Demo cratic judges out of the office The second charges the terms circuit court to fit the new districts It is expected that the Democrats will have these measures submitted to a vote of the people under referendum petitions and a meeting of the Democratic cir cuit judges is scheduled to be held here this evening with this end in view The Governor signed bills It is probable that several million of j money for the State educa dollars of damage was done to the institutions today totaling fruit of hooks searched the underbrush for John Williams The plantation and muddy and Yellow rivers are being plumbed to the depths for further evidence against Williams who is charged with murdering negroes State University head the list with a total of For other educational institutions the sums approved are Kirksville State Teachers College Warrensburg State Teachers Col lege Cape Girardeau State Teachers College Springfield State Teachers College Maryville State Teachers College School of Mines and Metal lurgy Lincoln Institute Jefferson City In connection with this latter ap night It is probable too that in the southern part of the State where wheat was greatly advanced and had jointed that much of the grain has been killed Reports received today by the secretary of the State Board of Agriculture Jewell Mayes indi cates much damage The temperature ranged from 10 above zero to 24 in different parts of tha State There was more sleet than snow in the east ern part of the State and some of the lowest temperatures are reported from Southeast Missouri Peaches apples and all small fruits have damaged bad ly but it will be several days before the exact facts will be known Jef ferson
