With Counties gates Also Decide to Increase arts Decrease Supervisors Powers Lansing Mich Jan Wayne county board of auditors as well as the auditors boards of Kent Washtenaw Jackson and Genesee counties are saved By a vote of thirtyseven to fifteen the convention Wednesday afternoon de that while thero shall ba a gen eral Jaw providing for but one auditor 311 each county die sis counties Earned need not come under it until the electors in each vote to have one auditor instead of a board of three Delegate Simons offered the which will the six counties to keep their auditors boards until the electors decide otherwise A new section that extends in one way the powers of boards of super visors and in another way curtails the powers of such boards as well as the boards of county auditors was passed to second reading It gives supervisors power to fix the salaries of all county officials not otherwise provided in the constitution The curtailment Is in that supervisors aid auditors boards shall not have the absolute say as to whether a rendered against the county is excessive As it is now such board can reduce or reject entirely any submitted By an amendment offered by Dele gate Campbell of Detroit it is pro vided in the new section that if a person feels aggrieved at the way the board has treated his account he can appeal to the circuit court The primary school moneys section went through substantially as it is in the present constitution The idea of of the moneys now col in taxes for the primary schools diverted to another purpose was aban Pratt Proposal
