a charge of acy to commit assault in the second degree in the Kerrigan attack Derrick Smith Age 29 The driver of the getaway car in Kerrigan he is a former Portland dent most re- cently living in Phoenix who formerly worked with the developmentally is the uncle of Shane the alleged hitman On Jan Smith was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit assault in the second de- gree for conspiring in the attack on Kerrigan Diane Rawlinson to Dennis a Portland at- torney who is among those she is a former Ice Capades soloist who was forced by a traffic accident to stop skating She coached Harding from the time Harding was 3 until when they ed She resumed coaching Harding in then parted ways again She was ed with Harding after the 1992 ter Olympics Diane Rawlinson Ore The FBI used telephone records to lenge statements made by figure skater Tonya Harding and convince her to implicate her in the attack on figure skater Nancy documents show Harding's former Jeff accused her of being in- in the attack only after in- showed him the summary of Harding's statement to his lawyer Ron Hoevet has said Gillooly has pleaded guilty to racketeering for his role in the Jan 6 but Harding has not been although a U.S Figure Skating Association panel is ing the case in a proceeding that could lead to her being removed from the U.S Winter Olympic team The FBI released 130 pages of in- transcripts after Gillooly pleaded guilty Tuesday for his role in the clubbing of which forced her out of the national won by Harding Kerrigan was pronounced fit Wednesday to skate in the Olympics this month in Norway The documents include edited agents notes from the in- of Harding on January 18 and a grilling of Gillooly on Jan 26 and 27 Also included were interviews with suspects Shane Stant and rick Smith and with a Pennsylvania journalist who says Harding called her nearly two weeks before the at- tack seeking information on where Kerrigan lived and trained When agents questioned she at first told them she and Gillooly knew nothing about the at- tack on Kerrigan But nearly eight hours into the interview she changed her story after agents questioned her about telephone calls made Dec 28 from her home in rural Beaver to the Massachusetts arena where gan trains At first Harding told authorities she had been trying to reach gan to ask permission for a land sports bar to display a picture of Kerrigan and skater Kristi Yamaguchi When investigators confronted her on the Harding said Gillooly had persuaded her to tell the story about the picture an excuse for the telephone cording to the documents The documents indicate that Harding's bodyguard Shawn Eckardt told agents he believed Harding made the calls to get skating times so that they would know when she could be at- tacked Harding denied that claim with an expletive and said Gillooly and Eckardt had made the calls to the arena At that point Harding told in- she had become con- of involvement in the attack on Kerrigan after she re- turned from Detroit but didn't come forward because she feared Gillooly and his family Gillooly gave a different account and said that he and Harding dis- cussed the plan on Christmas in- formation on where Kerrigan trained and whether she owned property on Cape Cod Harding told Marano she needed the information to settle a cording to a summary of statement An employee at the Tony
