supply was seriously menaced by a cave in at the well which occurred at eight o'clock Tuesday evening The first alarm of the trouble was given when the water was seen to be very muddy and filled with sediment An examination was Immediately made by City Engineer Fisher and the employes of the pumping station but be determined until Wednesday morning Then It was learned that the wall of the big ply well on the Canal road between the and Tuscarawas rivers had not been broken aa first feared but that a large tity of sediment had been sucked Into the well and then into the pipe with the result that a hollow space had been made outside the walls of the well A cave-in finally occurred the effect of which was to force a great amount of dirt and under the walls of the well and into its contents from
