noon at the Lincoln school on th corner of Rock and streets The occasion was the unveiling o the Lincoln statue recently purchas eu About fifteen hundred schoo children were present with the teachers About five parents and others were present making the total present about two thousand The services were simple starting with the song Star Spang led by the pupils of the Liu coin school and followed by a pray er by Rev H W Thompson of the Presbyterian church Judge J R Buxton prosecuting at torney of Lewis county made the presentation address He Mr Chairman Ladies and Gentle men Teachers and Scholars of Cen tralia public On me has fallen the pleasant ty of presenting to the Lincoln school this beautiful bust of the Im- mortal Emancipator I have had the pleasure of addressing large fes and yet I say unto you I regard the honor of addressing the and children of the public schools greater than that of any audience whom I ever faced It Is right and proper that the of this school which bears the proud name of Lincoln should present this beau- bust to remain the property of this school as long as the ever- consuming fire of time should permit it to endure This beautiful bust shall stand at the entrance of the school before which every scholar shall pass as he enters to begin the duties of the day and it shall be the last object on which his eyes shall rest as be wends his way Miller who has been of tralia for The the Fair store in past ten or twelve years sold out the fore part of the week to W H Ingraham Co When Mr first went Into business in Centralia Mr Ingraham was one of his clerks and has worked for him ever since with the exception of a few months Mr Ingraham was in attle Mr InTraham resigned his position a few weeks to look out for a business location for himself After spending some time looking over the situation he concluded that he could do no better than to purchase the business he had seeu grow from Its Infancy There Is no doubt but what the new proprietors keep Killed In the Hannaford Valley A very sad accident occurred last Saturday in the Hannaford Valley causing the death of the six-year-old son of Mr and Mrs Domonic Probst who have
