ultralights By BLAKE HERZOG Staff Writer The Casa Grande Municipal Air port Authority voted in favor of a policy banning ultralight airplanes from taking off from city runways at a Tuesday night meeting The board voting 40 with Collings absent was unified in its concern that the presence of the ultralights would deter other pilots from using the airport The danger is having planes in with the member Dan Fogg said The airport is a public facility which means the board normally does not have a lot of say over what lands there but according to Federal Aviation Administration regulations the city can regulate ultralight glid er and cropduster traffic Chairman Jim Kroll voiced fears that the mix of the small aircraft with more conventional planes could lead to a decline of all kinds of traffic at Inside County and National Valley the airport The ULs going out to the airport would be detrimental to the airport There would be pilots afraid to fly there and it may even drive some business The question was raised by ultra light pilots currently operating from Three Points airstrip which is being put up for sale The ultralight pilots must leave the property by June 30 In other action the board also gave the nod to the airports status quo on rental policies finding nothing wrong with allowing large tenants like Nelson International as many T shades as they desire Nelson is on the waiting list for renting a fifth at the airport and board members indicated they did not have any problem with the large customers getting as many spaces as they wanted as long as favoritism is not shown toward them page 3 Marshall Plan commemorated THE HAGUE Netherlands AP President Clinton today com memorated the Marshall Plan rescue of a continent 50 years ago with a new call for the
