RCMP Crime Report The Beausejour RCMP have had their hands full lately, with all types of complaints, crimes and reports. Police investigated four incidents under the Fatality Inquiries Act, one incident under the Mental Health Act and one incident under the Wildlife Act. Police were also advised of seven false intrusion alarms, 14 motor vehicle accidents, four noise complaints, four reports of suspicious persons and one report of a drunk passed out on Park Avenue. Police received 14 complaints and issued 19 traffic tickets. Four reports of possible impaired drivers were also investigated. Police also issued seven tickets under the Liquor Control Act and issued one six hour suspension for drinking and driving. The Beausejour Detachment also received three requests for assistance from other police departments and five requests from the general public. On July 13lh at 1450, police received a complaint of a vehicle passing another vehicle at crosswalk while pedestrian crossing. Driver of suspect vehicle is a new member of the Fire Department enroute to fire. Member reminded of liability while enroute to fires. No charges were laid. Also on the 13th at 1745, police received a complaint of a male driving on Hwy. 44 and exposing himself to the driving public. A 44 year old Winnipeg man has been charged for committing an indecent act. On Julyl4th, police received a complaint of two individuals drinking with the vehicle in ditch 3/4 mile south of Garson Hotel. Police patrolled. Both vehicle and occupants gone. On July 15th, a complaint was received that several vehicles were parked in the no parking zone north of Garson. As a result, live vehicles were charged with illegal parking under the Highway Traffic Act. July 17th, police were called to an injury accident at the corner of First St. South and Ashton Ave. The accident occurred when the second vehicle pulled out to pass the fust vehicle who was attempting to turn onto Ashton Avenue. The 17 year old Beausejour youth operating the second vehicle was treated at the Beausejour Hospital and released. He was subsequently charged with passing on a solid line. July 25th, police received a report that a Tyndall woman received a telephone call from a person who was selling coupons. The salesperson requested the woman to send cash to purchase the coupons. Residents are reminded to beware of telephone salesman who request that they forward money. These types of calls are usually frauds. On July 27th, police were advised of a break and enter into a garage on Gertrude Avenue. A quantity of camping equipment and tools were stolen. The investigation is continuing. Also on the 27th, a male subject entered a residence on 5th Street South and exposed himself to the female resident. The suspect is described as having grey hair and a curled up moustache driving a maroon car. The investigation is continuing. On July 31st, police were called to a domestic dispute in Garson. As a result, a 28 year old Garson man was arrested and charged with assault and will be appearing in Beausejour Court. On August 1st, police received a report that 22 head of Holstein dairy cattle were stolen from a farm located south of Beausejour. The investigation is continuing. On August 2nd, police received a report of theft of an Income Tax cheque. The cheque was subsequently cashed in Beausejour. The investigation is continuing.
